Siren Doll, Sexy lingerie, because
“Life is meant to be Fun & Inspirational”
how did it come to be?
Welcome One and All.
The name Siren Doll is now 40 years young, (since 1984) and came to be because of the meaning of the words.
A Siren is Flashing, Loud, Red the colour of Love signifying danger and attention.
Sirens also being mystical, mythological mermaids that sat on the ocean rocks and with their entrancing singing would lure sailors to their death.
Doll not only mean’s a strong, beautiful woman but also means a handsome man.
What made up my mind that Siren Doll was the perfect name was that in 1984 no one l asked liked the name, which was more reason to love it, being the Aquarian l am, you just cannot follow the crowd.
The love affair with color and fabric began at 6 years of age while sewing clothes for my Barbie Doll who of course came with the matching shoes, hats, bags, wigs and accessories.
Which then transferred into making all my own clothes and then being asked by friends to make their one off’s and the word spread.
This kept me busy working away from home making original fun clothes for the most wonderfull types of creative people that helped expressed the person they were, always colourful, tasteful, cheeky, fun, shocking, sexy, feminine and WOW.
All the while people kept telling me, that my fun clothing was lingerie.
The Siren Doll store first opened in Collingwood in 1997 by accident, after the house that my boyfriend and l had been renting had to be demolished and it was my boyfriends idea to open a store downstairs and live upstairs on Johnston Street.
2 sons later, that were not on my bucket list, but am glad came along, thanks to my boyfriend, (interesting why Fate brings people together) and after many fun creative years in retail, surrounded by many great people both customers and staff, Siren Doll moved to a larger store in Richmond in 2018 to continue creating and living my passion of creating inspiration while having fun. Siren Doll is for everyone, no matter your size, age or sex.
l started this journey being inspired by making clothes for my Barbie Doll, only now my wonderful customers have been and still are my Barbie Doll.
It’s because of amazing Customers that Siren Doll is still going strong inspiring each other to be ourselves no matter what that is and having fun along the way.
